About Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy

Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy is a public charter school dedicated to excellence in the multimedia arts. Led by our Principal Dr. David Fant, our school’s mission is to develop caring, engaged citizens and thoughtful learners.

Students at BSP are engaged in 4 eight (8) week sessions of intense hands on instruction in reading and math. This program is in addition to the regular core classes. Direct Intervention was developed to help both the struggling and advance learner to reach their greatest potential in these two subjects.

The enveloping goals of Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy are to assure that all students are provided the opportunity to succeed academically, regardless of their current demographics or obstacles they may face. The school will provide a safe, nurturing environment conducive for learning and set high expectations to promote academic excellence. Moreover, Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy will equip students with the knowledge and skills to achieve success.

Ohio Community Statement

Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy is a community school established under Chapter 3314 of the Revised Code. Bessie Sherrod Price Preparatory Academy is a public school and students enrolled in and attending the school are required to take proficiency tests and other examinations prescribed by law. In addition, there may be other requirements for students at the school that are prescribed by law. Students who have been excused from the compulsory attendance law for the purpose of home education as defined by the Administrative Code shall no longer be excused for that purpose upon their enrollment in a community school.
